What we do
Land and housing development across South Wales, from the first site walk to handover, delivered by one team.
A developer that does its own groundworks.
Most developments pass through several hands before anyone moves in: a groundworker to get it out of the ground, a builder to put the homes up, and someone in the middle trying to keep them talking. Every handover is a place for time and money to leak.
C&M Developments does it with one team. We are the development side of C&M Jones Groundworks, so the people who price and prepare the ground are the same people who build and hand over the homes.
How a scheme runs with us
Every stage is carried out by the same people, so nothing gets lost between contractors.
-
First things first
Get in touch and walk the site
Tell us where the land is and what you have in mind, even if that is only a rough idea. We will talk it through, then meet you on site. Walking the ground together is where the important questions get answered: access, levels, drainage, what is next door and what the site could realistically take.

Prove the ground
Before anyone commits money, we look hard at what is under the surface. Levels, drainage routes, existing retaining walls and ground stability are assessed and priced, because on a Valleys site that is where the real cost sits. You see the groundworks clearly before the scheme goes any further.
-
Get it out of the ground
Our own groundworks team carries out the enabling works: site clearance, foundations, drainage and sewer connections, roads and services, and any retaining or anchoring the site needs. It is the work C&M Jones has done for more than 50 years combined, so it is priced and programmed by the people who do it.
-
Build
The homes go up on ground our own team prepared, so there is no handover between a groundworker and a builder for problems to fall through. The same team takes the build from the frame to the roof and the finishes.
-
Hand over
Finished, signed off and handed over. From the first site walk to the keys, you deal with the same people the whole way through.
Who we work with
-
Landowners
You have a plot or a field that is doing nothing. We look at what it can take and can deliver it as finished homes, without you managing a single contractor.
-
Housing associations and councils
An accredited partner already trusted on social housing estates in the Valleys, from retaining walls to new homes.
-
Investors and partners
A delivery team that prices the ground because it digs the ground, so the biggest unknown on a Valleys site is handled first.
Valleys sites are won or lost in the ground.
Steep plots, old retaining walls and wet ground are where schemes in the Valleys tend to run over time and budget. It is also where our team has spent its working life. As approved Platipus installers we can often stabilise a failing wall instead of rebuilding it, an approach Tai Calon says saved them tens of thousands of pounds.
- More than 50 years combined experience below ground
- Approved Platipus earth anchoring installers
- CHAS accredited, with CSCS, CPCS and Street Works certification
